Without asking her we would not know. I've been out of the game for a long time.
Good question for bowling broadcast teams and for Bowler's via social media.
Verity Crawley is on Facebook. I bet she'd be happy to respond to you.

Just a few tidbits
Here is why two hall of fame bowlers kept notes.
I participated in an interview with Parker, a class act and gentleman.
I know that Parker Bohn III kept notes and he was mentored by Mark Roth.
Roth supposedly had notes about every lane he ever bowled on.
Of course things change, but he had historic references.
Lanes play differently, one significant factor is lane topography.
If a ball is going uphill, it encounters more resistance i.e. friction, the converse is true.

Essentially a journal of what they deem important, details vary.
What worked what didn't, balls surface, release, speed line played. What they left.

Every shot you through yields information.
May all beings everywhere be happy and free,
and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness
and to that freedom for all.

that's what i guess i will start to do. different lane reactions, the ball i was using at the time, ball speed the ball and surface i might be using at the time...maybe even when the lanes started to transition would be a good idea.....
