bowling in florida

Post by turbotwister »

hi all.....living in Florida with all the humidity is a pain let alone being a bowler. i have been bowling terrible the last month or so and my average is dropping big time. would the humidity effect the conditioner to where the ball won't react the same as bowling in the cooler months? would it be best to sand my equipment or leave it polished.... just curious on how to handle the humidity or what should I do to get back on track. thanks

Humidity can affect lane topography (hills, valleys, crowns, depressions)

Some thoughts.
If you know you have executed a good delivery, trust what you see.
Check what other bowlers are using on your pair and the pair you will be on next week.
Keep a book on the lanes. I've read where Mark Roth kept notes on every lane he ever bowled in.
Old bowler's term "Go to school on the lanes", that is, walk up and down the lanes, try to see what other bowlers are doing, what they are using.
Keep a record what you observe.
Compile information and use it, record your experiments and the results.
May all beings everywhere be happy and free,
and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness
and to that freedom for all.
