Returning to bowling looking to get a few questions answered

Post by Stylez78 »

So 15 + years ago I was really into bowling, had 4 leagues going multiple type of equipment etc. Since then I had 3 back surgeries and a shoulder.surgery that has kept me away.

My son got.into it recently and it has inspired me to want to come back. I spoke with the local pro shop guy and I was telling him I used to have 6 balls etc (all gone now) and I don't have my PAP anymore since I got rid of all my equipment ages ago. He wanted to give me a basic layout. Which I understand but I was curious if there was a better way to figure out what I should get just starting back

Is there a ball recommendation to go with if I do t have much information anymore? Not sure if using a ball not drilled for me would be accurate to get pap. So what would be best way to approach this? I'm 6'2 280lb but because of my back and shoulder I still need build up strength. I used to own the original Black widow and bowled so many 290+ games with that ball and see they have the 2.0 line now and curious if that would be a good place to start or if there is something for a synthetic lane basic house shot?

Any advice how to start from square zero for ball choice would be helpful! .

Start with a spare ball label drilled.
Get a little practice in and then find your PAP and release specs.

Then figure out what kind, how many and what color balls to build your new arsenal with.

Appreciate the reply! Getting a spare ball first make sense it always useful and I can get all the info I need PAP rev rate speed etc from there. I'll do that tomorrow. Thanks!
