Things that void the warranty on a bowling ball
This may have changed over the years but what to your knowledge will void a manufacturers warranty?
I'm not asking this for myself as I've been out of bowling for many years.
Might even be a good short article for our wiki.
Thanks.

Re: 3-6-10 and 3-10 split
Hi Dr Bob, I hope your success rate has improved. Please be sure to share what you found works best for you. Video recording yourself can help you learn about what you are doing versus what you think you are doing. For example swing shape and consistency, how far the ball is from your sliding foot a...

Re: 3-6-10 and 3-10 split
Here goes. Maybe if I say some thing dumb enough someone with good suggestions will chime in. I used to bowl against a guy who always hooked it at the 3-10, more than not the ball would sail right through. He'd turn with a big smile, because he knew we were all waiting for it! A few thoughts - Check...

Walter, in my long winded post, I included a link to a Jim Merrell's Video Capture article in the wiki. Copied here ;) Coaches will want to see a good side view and videos that show you from head to toe Elements of timing and speed are best revealed from a side view. https://wiki.bowlingchat.net/wik...

Re: Advice on Approach Requested - Slow Ball Speed
Trying to get the ball rolling for you. We have some very good coaches on board. I'm not a coach, so I'm just providing what I think are SOME points of interest. While I have some knowledge, I lack a coaches eye, that is a gift, knowing what to change and when and what to leave alone. I'm like one o...

Re: How to regain confidence in my approach
Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and I bowled, one of my pre shot routines was to test out my slide sole on the approach as I took my stance. Yes we did wear shoes back then  That would not be a bad habit. Some variables: Frequency and degree of the sticking Circumstance, i.e. any thing spe...

Stylez78 See if this helps, I think it's a valuable tip. Steve Cook 6'7" bowled PBA there is probably plenty of video of the gracefull big man out there. Btw he and Mike Aulby are brothers in law. Mike is a least 1 foot shorter. 😲 Look, listen, learn, practice. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jcqp...

Re: Correcting Bad Release Habits(?)
"Here is what makes bowling so difficult, the perimeters. We are throwing a heavy object at a target that is 60 feet away. Not only that, there are 10 of them. That, in and of itself, sends a signal to the brain whereby it would appear a lot of effort will be required. Better athletes look at i...

Bud.
As you may know the relationship of the lane to the ball is like that of a road with a tire.
They change each other.
Cheers!

Re: Six Month Overview
As for 10 pin nightmares.
Consider this in future practice sessions, play a game of picking the 10 pin off a full rack, on the second shot, roll it over the hopefully vacant 10 pen spot.
Straight ball takes the lane condition out of play.

Re: Pain in fingers
Quick thought an opinion. I am no PSO. Have not bowled in eons. I have had a similar experience and I did come around too soon and I had excellent PSO'S so in my case it was not a measurement issue like span or pitch etc. Chat with your PSO and a coach, see if they can observe you. The PSO might be ...

Re: New to this. Call out everything, please!
Magic ... How are things going? In looking at the orientation of your shoulders and hips, it looks to me that you would be throwing the ball to a spot somewhere on the next lane. Note, this is just my impression. Read this thread, hone in on Jim Merrell's discussion of the importannce of the "o...
