Re: Does bridge distance usually account for inserts?

Started drilling my own stuff recently and now drilling a ball for my brother. I don't use inserts but he does and now I'm curious about something that is probably trivial. Let's say you want 1/4" bridge.... is that the distance between the actual holes that accommodate the inserts or the dist...

Re: Things that void the warranty on a bowling ball

Bridge less than 1/4 inch in width, lateral finger pitches that do not add up to at least 3/4 Inch, examples : 3/8 left, 3/8 right = 3/4 Ok 5/16 left. 5/16 right, adds up to 5/8. not ok.
exposing your ball to extreme temperatures. Ball damaged by a pin setter.

Re: Bruising at thumb

I have some bruising at my thumb that I cant seem to ever get rid of. It is a straight line about halfway down from the first digit. I have tried more tape, less tape, and whatever I do it is still there. I dont think I am gripping to hard either. The proshop thought the edge was sharp, and fixed t...

Re: Advice on Approach Requested - Slow Ball Speed

What I like, shoulder is dropped, head appears to be over the ball in the stance. What is hard to tell is your pushaway shape and how far from your body the ball is in your stance. How long your steps are. Also hard to see what direction your feet are moving... Can't see the entire approach or your ...

Re: Targeting

I draw a line from the foul line to my target in the arrow zone, then I watch the ball path to the distance zone for the ball motion triangle I am playing. Ingrained in my brain. Distance zones don't change, oil patterns do. I find the shallower the entry angle I use, the more mistake room I have le...

Re: Dexter bowling shoes

I have the blue and purple Dexter Raquel size 9-1/2 women's shoe. They don't have a pad on the soles. If I wanted to use a brush to help my slide, what kind of brush would I get and how do I use one? Any pro shop should carry them or be able to get you one. Just ask them for a shoe brush. side to s...

Re: Cleaning my bowling ball

I have a plastic Ebonite 300 13# ball that I've had since 1972. I like the ball since I usually throw a straight ball and plastic is good for that. My question is that I've noticed that the performance of my ball isn't good anymore. I wipe it off with a microfiber cloth but should I use something e...

With a paper towel, and rub on the worst spots aka caked on black crud. The soles I use a shoe brush,

I'm thinking of getting a new pair of bowling shoes. I'm currently wearing The Dexter Raquel Women's grey/purple shoe, size 9-1/2. Re: newly drilled thumb slugs

You can also try slowing down your thumb pitch, and using less bevel. Personally, I smooth out my thumb holes so they are like glass, and have enough room for a couple of pieces of white textured thumb hole tape and change it frequently, every six games at most. I try and line it up on the front sid...

Re: Ball Setup...VERY different than you think

Every sport has its rules. I don't think enforcing the rules is crying. There is something called nonsanctioned leagues. You should look for one of these. USBC rules are not in effect (but that's not to say the league itself doesn't have a rule or two). Yes, seniors leagues are inhabited by older b...

Re: Ball Weight Variances

Variations in manufacturing, those small variations will not affect ball motion nor will you feel them. Exactly, It's a manufacturing process, there will be variances, it's the same as a specified dimension for a machined part, let's call it a widget for argument's sake. Say it needs to be 3 3/4 th...

Maybe a new 10 sole will help with the tacky approaches, or even a 9 sole.
