Re: Looking to Redo My Ball Arsenal
Balls of choice can be pretty subjective. I bowl quite a bit of over 50 stuff on challenge patterns to pba50 patterns. I like to run with a make up of this in a 6 ball arsenal... 1 big cover solid ball. Typically an Asym.. 1 big cover pearl/hybrid ball. again Typically an Asym 2 medium strength cont...

Re: 7 foot tall bowler seeking help.
Really hard to say without seeing a video of how he throws the ball. Being tall does not always mean you throw the ball hard. I have bowled with a guy for years who is 6' 7" and he throws the ball 13mph.

Re: Help with my sons hand pain
I also have pain there. along with carpal and some arthritis on the back of my hand. It comes and goes in that area. I had to switch to 14lbs to be able to continue bowling. So you might want to look into a 14lb and see how he feels. It dont sound like much, but that extra pound makes a big difference

Re: Dexter bowling shoes
What number pad? The 8's and get a little funky looking, especially if you use a wire brush on them. At the end of the day the "fuzz" look will prob not affect anything.

Re: Wipe ball or not ? And when ?
I saw Jr's vid also. leaving oil on a ball in theory should help it get down the lane some... but thats easy to say when you own a proshop and can get equipment at cost. The rest of us pay 180+ for balls and letting em soak up oil isnt an ideal situation.

you can wear any jersey from any company that you want... For High School, usually you have something from your school that you will wear.

Re: High school bowling
The pattern you play on for matches will vary by state/county, as will the game play. In Ohio its 2 individual games of 5 players with 4 baker games. total pins wins Where my Son went to school, they bowled on fresh to burnt up garbage from the night before. While other areas around us play on fresh...

you cater to your leagues? wow.. thats refreshing...
Not around here, you get whatever they put out.. period...
and oil for open play? wow... again.. here you get left over from what ever they oiled for leagues.

Re: Thumb issues
Was able to go see someone that i trusted do a new fitting. I found out a few things.... 1. My finger tips have about zero flexability... so he went 3/8 reverse on both. Left lateral pitches alone 2. My thumb has no flexability and the webbing is super tight.. so he went with 1/8 forward 3. How thin...

Re: Thumb issues
grabbing and clearing the thumb are the main issues at the moment.. We do roll the oval in my finger grips to match how my fingers lay across the holes. Right now i believe my finger are 0 pitch.. and i couldnt tell you if we have any lateral in them. The ball seems to have most of the weight restin...

Re: Thumb issues
From cut to cut is appx 4 5/8. I believe where my biggest problem comes from is how messed up my fingers are. Like i said i have broke them multiple times over the years. We are going to play around and see what works best.. Might start with 1/8 reverse and 3/8 left... go from there. From what i fee...

Re: Thumb issues
Tom.. Thanks for the Reply. I have a few balls that i no longer use and am going to tinker a bit.. I was just looking to see what other people had done. I think the first attempt will be 1/4 reverse and 1/2 left. My right thumb is very stiff, and some left is needed. To make matters worse I have bro...

Thumb issues
ok drillers.... What is the most reverse pitch and (left) side pitch you have put on someones thumb? I feel "trapped" in my thumb.... I have a giant pad below my thumb and a big thumb to begin with.. and with 1/8 revers and 1/8 left it still feels like my thumb is being... i dont know.. be...

Re: Pro layouts
saw what seemed to be 5" pin to pap layouts on a lot of balls this weekend.. I always look to see what layouts they are using when ever possible.
What you dont see is short pin to pap layouts... 3" or less

Re: College Bowling / recruiting
For anyone reading about this topic, while bowling well enough to deserve a scholarship is important, it cannot be stressed enough, scholastic credentials rank right up there with bowling ability. That would obvious, but in too many cases, scholastics are ignored. Colleges want / need good bowlers,...

Re: College Bowling / recruiting
Just an update to this whole process.... My Son did commit to a 2yr college that is attached to a university.. so after his 2yrs welding he could flip to the university for an additional 2 years. What i learned in this whole process.... Community colleges that offer bowling do not offer scholarships...

Re: Radical Bowling Technologies - Trail Blazer Full Review
My son will be switching to Big B brands next Fall for his College team. Since he committed early, he can order through the team this year. We went to a Big B demo day couple weeks ago to get a idea on the new releases. Trail Blazer rolled exceptionally well on the house shot and was part of the ord...

Re: College Bowling / recruiting
Bowling is considered a club sport at many colleges which often means, little or no expenses are absorbed by the institution. In spite of the lack of funding, the clubs somehow manage to survive. All the schools he is looking at are either NAIA or USBC Collegiate .. were staying away from anything ...
