Re: What Ball will you Never Get Rid of?
On the other hand I have an undrilled burgundy Columbia U Dot that somebody gave me that I will be keeping just for histories sake, since it is undrilled.[/quote]
My wine-dot was a boat anchor...used it for a few years and it ended up on the rack at the bowling alley
But no way any one is ever going to get my burgandy hammers or the urethane turbo

no matter what I ask, the worst that can happen is "sorry, can't help", so I ask away...as always THANKS for your time!

MOTIV SX1.Love this ball. They are stopping production on the SX1,so if
you have never tried one ,and wanted to ,this may be the best time to do so.

The one I just bought after not bowling for about 5 years. I went and bought a 900 Global Bank and what a great ball. I've bowled about 15 games with it so far and have about a 215 average. Not bad for being away for awhile. Maybe its just re-beginners luck. Only time will tell.

The Columbia (Tec2) Rock Pearl ,,, bowled my first 278 game with this ball in 2001. The Columbia Rock Pearl coverstock has a light load of particles and it has LowRG of 2.506 and a medium differential RG of .047. Great ball!

I wonder if Morich or any other ball company has something very much like this ball, but with a stronger coverstock for longer oil pattern.

Re: What Ball will you Never Get Rid of?
I have to say, I used to be more attached to bowling balls than I am now. I don't like carrying around too many, so I replace 1 for 1 now in my 4-6 ball arsenal. But, I am keeping the ball I shot my first sanctioned 300 with, the Fuze Igniter.
Re: What Ball will you Never Get Rid of?
Only have three that I've clung to over the years, even though they're 16's I still toss em in the bag now and again. My Ebonite Omega Lion has about a million games on it, and has been resurfaced to the point that there are no labels left just a serial number. My original Red Pulse is still the best ball ever built for over/under conditions and has traveled to nationals every year since 1999. I also have a black 3D Tour Offset Hammer that has helped me make a ton of money over the years.

I'll never get rid of my Columbia Icon 300, love that ball and it worked on every type of lane condition, as well as my Black Widow pearl and my MoRich Colossus.

Re: What Ball will you Never Get Rid of?
interesting topic could go on for awhile because I think all of us have had bowling balls that have lasting memories.
I have had a few I would never get rid of.
1. the track triton elite pearl had highest series ever with including 30 strikes in a row for 836.
2. morich colossus pearl this ball gives me a look on any lane condition especially sport. I owned over 3 ebonite vortex's and they were good balls, but colossus pearl just does a little better for me especially on the tough stuff. Still in the bag today.
3. morich onslaught Had one sitting in the pro shop for about 5 years undrilled even tried selling it off for less than we paid for it drilled. but no takers, thank god. Best THS ball I ever owned rolled 300 in 3 different houses with ball. wood synthetic short long if its a house shot it will score. still in the bag.
A couple I wish I didn't get rid of morich hercules and original colossus. I had near misses with colossus including 796 with 587 for first 2 games. The person I sold this ball to shot 300 with it.
some balls that I'll give honorable mention to for the sake of viewing that I have drilled for myself:
amf king cobra
amf white xs
track synergy
track darkside (covered more boards in backend than any ball i ever drilled for myself just didn't always add up on the scoresheet )
morich ravage
could be a keeper but to early yet morich mania 806 end of last year

Re: What Ball will you Never Get Rid of?
The ball I WISH I hadn't gotten rid of is the Brunswick Black Diamond that I shot my first (also last and only) 300 game with in the summer of 1972. I had it plugged and redrilled with different grip specs and didn't like it. Left it on a ball rack in Louisiana. -- JohnP

Re: What Ball will you Never Get Rid of?
Brunswick Wild Ride.
It's the only Big B ball that I still have left that hasn't cracked and it's my only ball with a pin down layout.
Now, regarding the cracking, I can only blame myself. I live in a hot desert climate and left my gear in storage while I was deployed to Afghanistan.
RIP
Avalanche Slide
Avalanche Pearl
Smash Zone
Rotogrip Horizon Solid
Rotogrip Mystic
Rotogrip Neptune

Columbia Arch Rival :
The cover doesn't require a lot of maintenance, and always seems to react the same. I've had a few and still have one undrilled in the closet. An excellent THS ball, but pretty useless on PBA patterns. I don't throw any other Columbia equipment other than this one.
