Hello all, I'm in my first year of bowling. Today I went to my lanes and had my PSO give me a run on bowler I.D. to get some info. I was curious to see if anyone had dual angle layouts for 3 kinds of balls (Solid Asym, Pearl Asym, Sold Sym) on a THS shot.
Right Handed
Rev Rate: 165
Ball speed: 14mph (At release)
PAP: 6 1/2 by 1 1/2 up
Tilt: -3.5 degrees (Not quite sure why negative)
Rotation: 75 degrees
Thanks!

I don’t believe so. I was told “3/4ths” roller based on my track. Near/over thumb, but away from fingers.

Something is amiss with either the PAP or Tilt measurement.captainzildo wrote:I don’t believe so. I was told “3/4ths” roller based on my track. Near/over thumb, but away from fingers.
Attached shows where the initial track should be, -3*Tilt. Basically you are a full roller that errors on the side of negative.
Being so new to the game I would suggest some coaching to teach you to roll the ball 3/4.
Then worry about layouts.
Get all your Stats redone before investing.
Unless you want to roll the ball the way you do and bouncing over the thumb.
Bouncing over gripping holes is never a good idea
Otherwise I would put full roller layouts on them especially if you go with the interchangeable thumb holes.

Re: New Bowler, looking for layout help
Thanks Eric. I think you're right. When we manually measured my tilt on one of my own balls, it was closer to 3 degrees. Does this make a difference? Thanks again.

Re: New Bowler, looking for layout help
Attached is what 3 deg of tilt looks like.
You still track through the grip and that allows you to use the full roller layout and not have the ball bouncing over the holes.
