Loop holes now illegal.

Post by elgavachon »

The USBC just came out and said loop holes are illegal. Don't know how this will be interpreted. Mo has been saying to drill thumb-holes deeper (even under the Thumb assemblies). This new statement from USBC has just opened the can of worms. Mo also says that a no-thumber should drill the finger holes very deep on a symmetrical ball to stabilize it. Is the USBC going to try and say that the deep finger holes are to change the differentials now?

USBC better invest in X-ray machines.

The lanes and oil patterns are more significant factors than the drilling techniques.

A 6" metal rule will do the same job for hole depth, and probably quicker. -- JohnP

But won't detect rebar and stealth xholes that I've been experimenting with.

Just to set the record straight, I don't bowl leagues or tournaments where prize money or pot money is involved.

What is going to be the maximum depth of a gripping hole?
6" would be a good depth in my opinion.

curiosity - regarding rebar buried in deep holes and covered over. . .

is there metallic content in our cores? enough to trigger a metal detector?
