Low rotation benchmark layout help

Post by Shazaam »

My buddy is looking for a layout on a Radical Squatch for a medium-dry house shot on wood lanes. His specs are:

Speed: 15.5-16.5mph (monitor)
Revs: 425-450 (off hand)
Tilt: 10-13 degrees
Rotation: 20 degrees

Any help would be appreciated!
My current Stats:

RH
PAP: 5" over and 1" up
Speed: 14.5-15.5 MPH at Monitor
Rev rate: approx. 250-300 rpm
Tilt: 13-15 degrees

Rotation is 20 degrees? How was that measured? Is the guy dead up the back of the ball?
Do you have his PAP?

Video analysis with tape on his PAP. Looking at his release position, I'm eyeballing his rotation closer to 30-35 degrees (sorry for the blurry pic, best I can do while at work). I don't know his PAP.

Observer bias. You must look at it down the shot line, not the center of the approach.
Im thinking its more like 60-70.
20, on that line, he would rarely strike.
How was the tilt measured?

Tilt was measured with the same video, so take that measurement with the same grain of salt. For the record, this video of him was self shot. I asked for the video used for the measurements, but haven't gotten it yet. I'm going to meet up with my friend in a couple weeks for tournament practice. There, I'll do the full work up properly: PAP, Tilt, Rotation, speed off hand, and revs off hand.

He's an eager bowler that wants to start learning the technical side of things. I've already shared the forum and wiki with him, so I hope he reads up.

Thank you. Once you get the specs for him, we'll be eager to help him get the best ball motion possible.

Measure the Axis tilt with an Armadillo.
If you measure an accurate PAP, the tilt will also be accurate.
