Hi all,
With my specs and current conditions, I can only use control and low flare layouts. I started subbing in a new league where the current Cyclops Pearl (.048) drilled 115x1.75x45 is too strong on the back end. I have a Brunswick Slingshot drilled with a motion hole. I can control the break but this ball will not carry thus leaving many many single pins.
The Radical is the weakest ball in their lineup not counting plastic. To go weaker, I could consider either the Brunswick Rhino (.030) or the Brunswick Twist (.018). I am not familiar with Brunswick. I am concern that if I drill with the same low flare layout, I could end up not accomplishing my need of 5 boards weaker than the Radical. What do you think and suggest that I should do? Thanks

Stop turning the ball sideways.
Lower your rotation and it won't hook so much.

MegaMav and Eric,
Thanks guys. Bowled last night with your suggestions in mind. Started out with the #14 Cyclops Pearl moving 5 boards left targeting between 3rd and 4th arrow with break point at around the 9th board. Also tried with more speed and less axis rotation. But I am very limited regards to changing my delivery much given age and physical ability. I ended up moving more left and going over the 4th arrow. I don't have enough revs to make it carry well. The younger guys in this league can take a Brunswick Slingshot, throw it hard with a lot of revs and strike quite well.
In summary, for every strike ball that I currently use, I have to swing it to get to the pocket. What I like to add to my arsenal is a ball (low flare layout) that I could throw more down and in with adequate carry. I will continue to work on my technique with your thoughts in mind. Best regards.

With your soft speed you can play front to back in the block, just roll the ball off your fingers and play soft.
Here is me last night, doing the same thing with a Rack Attack Pearl:

Can be done with urethane too, but not advised.

Re: 5 boards weaker than current low flare Radical Cyclops P
With severe back and neck issues, for the past year or more I have only been able to use a plastic spare ball because of my slow ball speed and rev dominance. I am able to move left, but plastic is just not strong enough to go left of the third arrow. Recently I tried an experiment, and it worked. I drilled up a Brunswick Twist and laid it out like it was for a lefty. I haven't done the measurements, so I can't tell you the exact layout, but the pin is above the middle finger and the CG is kicked out about 3.5" left of the vertical grip center line. The negative side weight was enough to virtually eliminate the influence of the very weak core.
The ball skids, hooks briefly, faces up and stays put. It's a lot like using plastic, with just enough of a "pop" at the end to give me much better carry!

Rob, since the fates have rendered you REV dominant, have you considered using a wrist device?
A wrist device/support, will limit rpms.
