layout for a 12lb plastic widow spare
My specs can be found in my signature. I realize in a 12lb widow spare the gas mask core isn't there. Is the core that they use still make the ball asymmetrical? Either way I am looking for a strike ball for dry conditions, sport or house shot that will give me the most carry. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am asking this because I can no longer throw reactive resin or urethane straight up the boards between the one and the 15 on house shots because of my release and lack of speed.

No the ball is Symmetrical.jdrsuper wrote:My specs can be found in my signature. I realize in a 12lb widow spare the gas mask core isn't there. This is the response I got from Ebonite.
Joel,
The Widow Spare uses the same Gas Mask Core all the way down to the 12lb balls.

With this information would you change your layout for the ball. As always I appreciate your help and thank you. One other question with the new static weight rules would it be possible to layout that ball so
it has 3 oz of side weight? Thanks again.

That is good news. Hopefully they will follow suit and offer that core in the other lighter weight Widow Models.jdrsuper wrote:The Widow Spare uses the same Gas Mask Core all the way down to the 12lb balls.
Yes it does make a difference. 45-4.5-45 your Benchmark layout
I should have modeled the layout 45-4.5-45 before making my post. The pin will be very close to the ring finger. I would adjust the layout to 45-4.5-40 to make for more clearance from the pin to finger.

Thanks a lot Eric for all your help. Is it possible, I have no idea to layout the ball to get 3 oz of side weight and still be legal?EricHartwell wrote: That is good news. Hopefully they will follow suit and offer that core in the other lighter weight Widow Models.

Re: layout for a 12lb plastic widow spare
This type of layout used to need a balance hole P2 to maintain legal static weight. Depending on what you have for starting top weight it is going to have a good amount of positive side weight.jdrsuper wrote: Thanks a lot Eric for all your help.
