Approach issue with hand position
I'm been working with Jim Merrell over the past summer - we worked on approach yet recently, I've been having top arm muscle strain going to the elbow (only on top of arm) I can feel it during the swing but not as much to feel it's effecting it. At the downswing in Step 2, my hand is going to the outside of the ball in almost all shots. When doing the 1 step it is behind it. I've tried many things to correct it, slowed feet down, changed ball position in stance, etc. At the line I don't have good leverage and it looks like the ball is too far away from my slide foot. Anyone see the problem and ways to correct? The only other recent change is I've been working on the "low down" or "yo-yo" release with a much lighter weight ball. I'm wondering if this motion is causing this as I do practice the step 1 daily for 30 minutes. If not causing this, is the correction in step 2? Also, this video shows the push away towards the right, Like I said I was trying different things. Usually my ball is front of body at shoulder seam and push away is not out far (smaller than first step) and drops into the swing on step 2.

I’d get with Jim if you’re still working with him. If not, post a video in the coaching section to let them dissect it.

Jim is one of the best coaches you can get... period. That said, post vid on certified coach section and Jim and I will take a look, may be a minor tweak but without video it is very difficult to see...

jhays, hopefully you have addressed cause and treatment for the pain you mentioned.
