Thanks for posting this Jim.
I loved your comment on YouTube
No this is not a copy of Dean Champs presentation, Today's technology allows us the opportunity to see what is happening during an elite release, and this video provides a great visual reference. However, this style of release has been around for decades. Not understood or taught by many coaches, therefore very little exposure to the masses. Don Johnson (PBA Hall of Famer) taught this method in his video series "A Pro's Guide to Better Bowling." He called this downswing move "B.A.M" (bend the arm more). If you watch his video (it is on youtube) you will be amazed at what he taught almost 40 years ago, we now call the "Modern Game". Gutter Bowler, nice job on presenting this material, now if we can just get coaches to understand how to implement it.
Eric "MegaMav" put the Don Johnson videos on the forum wiki a while ago.

Watching this video now on a TV. About 7 minutes in to the video, "Gutter Bowler" added part of the Norm Duke video where Norm offers what I think is a great tip and teaching point.
Jim, I wish we had a system that groomed bowling instructors, something like apprenticeships. I like the homage you paid to Don Johnson, truly a master teacher.
Back to the video ...

I find the illustrations and/or examples truly helpful especially that of the top view which we seldom see in other released videos. Good work by Gutter Bowler

The textual frames are quite valuable in my opinion. I wish they were black print on white back ground for printing purposes, ditto for the Mohamed Janahi analysis which I also like. I will be checking the Gutter Bowling videos. Jim gave a shout out to Don Johnson. I remember buying and viewing his vhs tapes when they were new. I learned a lot. Always so sorry I never met him and had a chance to learn from him. Too notch bowler, coach, and human being.
Don rolls 299 in the Firestone
Don's son Jimmy wins his first title. Jimmy, demonstrated the PRO release on one of Don's tapes, Jimmy was 17 when the tape was made. Don had passed away and never saw his son win on tour.
My many thanks to the folks that have preserved these on digital media.
