Re: Looking for Sport and House layout advise
Thanks really appreciate the help. Another question is what numbers as far as RG, Diff, pin distance, ect would work the best for me.

Re: Looking for Sport and House layout advise
My arsenal lists are starting points. Each individual ball should be evaluated independently to choose the layout or for an adjustment to a proposed layout.
3.5-4" pin to Cg 2-2.5 oz top weight for layouts that need balance holes.
3-4 pin to Cg and 2-3 oz top weight for pin up layouts that don't need balance holes.
1-2.5" pin to Cg, 1-3 oz top weight for layouts that the pin is in a finger or lower.
I do not pay attention to Rg, Coverstock prep more than makes up for anything that Rg can benefit.
As far as differential .030 to .050 will work fine. Differentials at the upper or lower end can have the layout adjusted to make up for most any deviation there.
I would pay attention to the intended oil amount you want the particular ball for to match up to the condition.
Dont get a skid flip ball to use as a control piece. Try to match up the intended reaction to the balls natural characteristics.

Re: Looking for Sport and House layout advise
Thanks again. Just curious as to what ratio you came up with and how you came up with them. I tried to figure it out but started getting a little confused.

Sorry I usually put the Ratio and totals before I list the arsenal.shutta300 wrote:Thanks again. Just curious as to what ratio you came up with and how you came up with them. I tried to figure it out but started getting a little confused.
Sweetspot 1.3:1 Ratio, 105* Total.
I used the 1.3 :1 Ratio because of my target being 1.25:1
from the Low tilt pdf...
http://wiki.bowlingchat.net/wiki/images ... _chart.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
When actually the chart stops at 2.5* of tilt.
I couldn't see starting at 3:1 from the Dual Angle Ratio Guide and have every shape being skip snap ratios.
You can always adjust a layout toward that if you are looking to have something with more skid snap than what I have suggested. My list for you was one of more control than skid snap.

Re: Looking for Sport and House layout advise
Yeah not really looking for a lot of skid snap. I leave a lot of 9s and 7s so I would guess that skid/snap would just make that worse or is that just likely because of my tilt and rotation?

I just noticed you said 105 totals but the benchmark total is 115? Just wondering if that is correctEricHartwell wrote: Sorry I usually put the Ratio and totals before I list the arsenal.

After looking back I also made mistakes on the Midlane and Totally Strong Asym layouts.
I will go back and edit my responses.
Thank you for bringing to light my error.
