saw this on ebay and considering its hard to find these undrilled in 14 lb was wondering how this would work for me: a high track player with a slower ball speed around 13-14 mph on the monitor

faball purple hammer
If I had 6 hours to chop down a tree I would spend the first 4 sharpening the axe.

$200 for an old low diff urethane ball?
Insanity.
Look around bowling centers for a used one.
I've found a Faball Blue Hammer and an AMF Sumo free of charge, just paid for plug and redrill.
Thats about what they're worth IMO.

Re: faball purple hammer
I wouldn't buy that thing. If you bowled on old lane conditions with the old oil maybe. That thing is old and who knows where it was sitting and it could maybe crack or something. I don't know how that would react on newer lanes with stronger oil. If it was me and I wanted urethane I would go with a Brunswick BTU or something, which I do have. It is made for modern lanes with modern conditions. If I throw that thing with low revs and low speed then I could get it to the pocket and not over hook. I am not quite sure if this will even move in modern conditions.
Re: faball purple hammer
Just get the new Purple Hammer ball. It should work better on today's conditions. I have one and you can definitely use it on a house shot and some sport shots. I have never thrown the original though.

X2 on the new Purple Hammer, get one (or two) it's a very smooooth early rolling urethane. Like said, good for short sport and also for THS.

Re: faball purple hammer
If they make a purple hammer which I guess they do from reading the reviews, you should get that thing. That would be like getting the old one for the old conditions and you will save money.
