Getting to know these Coachs ...

Post by kajmk »

Impetus for this topic.
Jim Merrell quoting Ruben Ghiragossian. I'd never heard of him, nor he of me, so being a curious bugger, I looked.

I thought it might be nice to create a thread dedicated to getting to know about some of the coaches in our sport.

Please enhance this thread, add information about a coach ...
All about getting the word out and getting them recognition ...

Leading off.

Ruben Ghiragossian.

May all beings everywhere be happy and free,
and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness
and to that freedom for all.

Ruben (Venezualian) and Sid Allen (Canadian) have worked together for many years. I believe they have coached in over 50 countries. Typically, they work with those countries developing athletes for their national teams.

Ruben is in the World Coaching Hall of Fame and currently the National Coach for Columbia.

Ruben has a B.S in Mechanical Engineering from U.S.C.

Ruben has worked with Diana Zavjalova since she was 12 years old. Other students include Daria Pajak and Verity Crawley.

Looking at these three girls will give you an insight into his coaching physiosophy.
