Oil pattern strategy

Post by JerryLau »

Dear all
Attached 2 pattern, with both 40ft, curious what's the difference in line play and/orAny surface change needed from one to the other? Between them, is it like a huge difference or are the patterns almost the same? Normally, my club is using the ABT #2, but there is a tournament 2weeks later, wondering what should I prepare for. THANK YOU

ABT 2 is a high ratio house shot.

from 8-13 out to 6-9 depending on friction with surface to begin with and the transition is anyones guess depending on how other play them.

if everyrhing gets nasty in the beginning there might be a shot playing the gutter. only four loads on the 2-2 so depending on house the gutter might play

The Abt2 has almost a 10:1 ratio which as Eric said is a high volumne house shot. You have 10 times more oil to the left of you so when you tug a ball, it will skid into the pocket. The tournament pattern is close to a 3:1 ratio. This will show your mistakes easier. When you tug a ball, it will not hold to the pocket as easily. Switching from a house shot to a sport shot will decrease the target area and put more emphasis on accuracy.

In this thread I think we should watch the house vs sport video again:

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://wiki.bowlingchat.net/wiki/index. ... ng_Layouts" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Be prepared to spare mutch om the AMF pattern. When you strike, you have done a perfect frame.
