Website Unavailable - July 2nd-5th - Overhaulin'

Post by MegaMav »

Members,

Im putting this announcement up to inform you that I'm migrating the website over to a new server 4th of July weekend.

I will be making BowlingChat.net unavailable starting 9PM Friday evening, and switching over the DNS to the new naming server. You will be unable to access any part of the website until the internet routers resolve the domain name to the correct server.

Saturday morning, if I have access to the new server's web interface, I will begin working on the new website then.

Once I have access, I dont anticipate the turn around time from start to finish to be more than 48 hours.

When you get back from your July 4th weekend vacation, we'll be back up and running.

Once you hit the new server you'll see a screen similar to the one below.

I will be implementing CometChat.
If you dont have a forum account, sign up for one now, the new chat will use the forum ID's.

See you on the flipside, let me know if you have any questions.

Out of curiosity, will the present threads and posts be available after the switch over to the new site? Or will the new site start from scratch? Thanks for all you do Eric!!

Erica,

The chat will be similar to facebook's and myspace's chat.
It will be integrated with the forum, so you can chat with anyone in the forum, and hang out in a separate chat room box.

It will be a little different, but all eggs in 1 basket in terms of sessions and accounts between, chat, forum and wiki.

let me know if you have any additional questions.

On the icon below to bring up face-book, I don't know who is who. Is there a way to add usernames? Maybe everybody needs to add their bowlingchat username to their facebook so we know who is who.
THANKS Megamav for your hard work.

THANKS Megamav for your hard work.
Its there more as a thing to "Like" more than anything.
Hopefully attract more people here as a networking tool.
I didnt create it to see who's who.
