My bro threw the ugliest 700 i have ever seen, he was all over the place carrying everything. One of the guys on the other team was so pissed he packed his bag and left when he finished the 10th frame of the 3rd game.

I dont see your score. And you never know...anything is possible. I shot 570 last week and I felt great; a couple big splits and some solid single pins. Just coming off an injury; torn bicep and pec muscle. After 2.5 months off, things are a little shaky. Either way, best of luck to you! I don't bowl until tomorrow at 5pm EST.

So.... we get back from Christmas break to start our second half of our PBA Experience League
and a lousy 7 ppl showed up. Instead of a split season, it is now 2 short seasons which was a mistake because that gives everyone an 'out' which stinks. The center agreed to run the animal patterns every Tuesday night and we can all practice for a buck-fifty a game - we are spreading the word to hopefully grow the league for the summer - and as you know, this is the only league I bowl. I've subbed a couple of times for a friend in a house pattern which is totally not fair for this competition.

Merry Christmas, MilkMan. You just eaned a bye.

What's even worse is that I have to wait another whole year for this competition.

Have fun guys!!! 8-)

How is that working out for you? I wanted to do that where I live but the most wont commit to it. The sport patterns keep you humble and some of the so called "House Kings" won't compete on those patterns because their 230's turn into 180's or even lower. Its a tough world to please everyone. Those who dont care about big scores and appreciate shot making are far and few inbetween. And unless you have a big pocketbook, the tournaments can be pricey on top of weekly league fees.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said "big pocketbook". With only so much money to go around that really leaves only serious bowlers who want to bowl sport shots.
It would be fun no doubt but that would be my third league around here and the shot in the house I bown in now isn't that easy or consistent, somethimes just non-existent, Basically I'd have to quit a league with my wife and friends or quit a men's league with friends of all bowling levels to join a sport league. If there was one...

I have only bowled in Sport Compliant Leagues since 2005. It's working out wonderfully! I'm not a league bowler for the money, so I could care less what the payout is at the end of the year. The payout for me is that I have drastically improved in PBA Regionals since sport patterns are the only patterns my game ever sees. Went to Nationals in Baton Rouge for the first time ever and I almost hit the floor at the bracket payout booth! Bottom line is this: If you practice on patterns that are harder than they are supposed to be, then you be well prepared at Nationals or PBA Regionals

I agree completely. There are sometimes when I lay an egg on our house pattern. But at 13:1 it's hard to not shoot a high score sometimes. I can throw it everywhere and still shoot a 700.
This summer I started a PBA league and had about 25 people try it. By the end, only the bowlers that didn't have huge egos were left. And most of them are dramatically better bowlers this season. I won high average by a single pin over a guy that averages upwards of 225 on our house shot. I averaged 179...
I don't really care if I shoot a high set on a house pattern anymore. It's become almost meaningless to me. I did, however, shoot a 670 on Mexico City last Monday in practice and only had 1 bad game over 6 finishing 59 over.
I think it's hard to move people away from 220-230-240 as the high averages but its just a number. Maybe 200 can be great again? It might just help this game.
