Jakester, thanks! As for "sandbagging", I wish that was the case. I severely sprained my ring finger in the end of June last year and it's taken till now for me to finally get comfortable with it. Also, I just drilled up a Frantic using some of the knowledge I've learned from here and all I can say is wow!

The bracket has been updated.
Congratulations to the bowlers that advanced.
If you are up against a NO SCORE this week, you must still post a score to advance.

MegaMav,

Thanks again for running this tourrnament. Guess I'm one and out this year.

Jakester,

Congratulation on winning this last year. With all of the good bowlers competing in this, it truly is an achievement to earn the matchplay champion label. In true champion fashion, you had the highest score not to advance.

ch_flash,

As I mentioned in the PM, congratulations on the win and sorry I didn't put up a better fight last week. Believe me, I was trying to find some way to string strikes but it just wasn't in the cards/pins for the week.

I'll be following the matchplay brackets as the weeks progress and pulling for each of you to bowl well but especially to ch_flash. Bowl well all!

Respectfully,

Jim B.
My specs: 15 pound equipment, PAP is 5 1/4" over and 3/8" up, ball speed 17 mph at release, 14 1/2 to 15 mph down lane, 13 degrees of axis tilt, 45 degrees of axis rotation, 330 rpm, for my normal release.

jbungard, I guess it was harder than expected, you have to bowl well AND have some luck. I'm happy with 694, I would've had to carry everything to beat a 772. Plus, I stayed with my more aggressive HookR too long in the second game. There are some very good bowlers in the tourney so it'll be interesting. Good luck the rest of the year/season.

Thanks again, Jim.
I started the night thinking that I was not going to carry, then the shot came to me. I payed attention to everyones ball movement and made my moves BEFORE I got into trouble. Plus, I was able to use a ball, that I wouldn't have been able to, if it wasn't for the things I've learned from this awesome site and the knowledgeable folks here.
I will do my best!

It is a shame that so many don't post scores, particularly when so many were dropped from the field and would like to have competed.

Thanks for running the matchplay megamav.

To BCP27, No, didn't play the wounded duck card. You know, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while. We'll see if it was a fluke. Good luck to all. Here we go again.

WOOF! WOOF!. That's YES in doogie language!!! lol I WISH I was in my 30's!! Each year it seems that Arthur comes and stays longer and longer. But ya just keep on keeping on. Right? Oh, that's right, you ain't nearly old enough to know that. Bowl well. But I will say one thing that is totally honest and straight forward. These bowlers on this Forum are extremely knowledgeable and very understanding when it comes to helping and listening to the older generation and giving us advice to help us continue the game we all love and enjoy, without pain or discomfort. Thanks to everyone. and good luck. DOOGIE said it!!!! Pronounced Doogie, not DOG__E. lol

+1. Maybe next year it can be organized so that the final bracket isn't finalized until everyone submits their first week scores. Have a tentative "top 32", but whoever doesn't submit a score gets dropped and everyone below him/her moves up one and the the alternates get added to the bottom.

Pinbuster and Jaydee:

Great idea for next year. It really is a shame they didn't post their scores. It makes you wonder if they may have seen the scores early and given up or if they just had a bad nite and didn't want to get embarrassed. maybe Eric can adjust the rules for next year and more people can have the opportunity to shoot this. I think it's a great idea to run this.
