Nice product. It anchors well in the ball an to seems stronger then other similar products. The slug still has to be fitted properly to get the desired effect. I've have seen several bowlers who went from traditional slugs to Vise Its and Switch Grips only to have the same problems...ill fitted slugs. I do believe that the Vise product is the better product from a strength perspective.

Yeah, i feel dumb because i have a mold but it never comes out the same, and made it right, and fill it with the backline in the correct place. just the feel is different. Im just so tired of it. My bowling balls are all drilled right length/pitches but the slugs never feel the same so i thought id give these a try. Bought the 500 dollar kit. :)

You can incorporate the molded thumb insert with IT, if your mold is 1 1/4 you will be putting it in the 1 3/8 IT slug, and 1 3/8 mold will be 1 1/2 IT slug, you can drill it yourself or you can buy the pre-drilled IT slug for mold.

I have drilled many balls with the VISE IT system. Bowlers who have problems with repeating thumb fit seem to really like the system. As a pro shop operator I like the fact that the drill bit size required to install each slug is only 1/16" larger than a normal slug size (i.e. using a supplied 1 5/16" drill bit for a 1 1/14" slug). Some of the competitors' systems require very large drill bits to install their slugs.

Many customers of mine start with one slug, and then come back for a slightly larger slug later on. This allows them to tinker with the fit to accommodate the changes in their thumb size during the bowling season.

We have installed a lot of the ITs, and yes we have a couple damaged Ball-IT, but it could be installation mistake, all in all over 99.9% successful rate.

The drill bits supplied with the VISE IT have a collar that limits the travel. There is also a 1/2 inch hole that must be drilled 1/2 -3/4 inches deep. The system works well and I have had very little problems with it. It is important to make sure that the Ball IT installation tool turns freely thru the plastic sleeve and the drilled holes PRIOR to gluing the BALL IT!!!!!!

I have had one customer that returned a broken slug (at the top, not the bottom). It could have been anything that broke it, so I can't place blame solely on the system.

If you have any questions about how to use to VISE IT system, feel free to PM me.

ok the reason for the question above is because all my thumbs are drilled 1-3/8 diameter and about 2-3/8 deep wondering if i need to plug those holes or if the IT drill bit will go deeper than 2-3/8". (the IT 1-5/16 bit how deep will it drill the hole max.???)

The pilot hole is 3" deep @ zero pitch using their standard collar set-up.

I have installed around 300 of the IT's, very good product!

You can install IT's into an existing hole but they may not perfom quite as well as actually drilling a plugged hole or new ball. From my experience the drill bit can walk slightly and make the hole not quite centered to the 1/2" hole. It is kind of hit or miss sometiems there is no problem and other times there is. I prefer to plug the hole and start fresh.

I don't know about your shop but I do offer the Ball It separately for those who already have their Thumb It's. I don't know why any shop that sells the Vise system wouldn't offer the Ball It separately as it makes no sense to charge for the complete kit every time.

I am maybe thinking of putting ITs in my balls. I have heard if you like them you love them or if you do not like them you hate them. Has anyone on this website had any problems besides the few I heard?

I love IT.

I still need to change over my Chainsaw from a standard slug, but everything else has IT or will have IT when I get them drilled. It's nice to have a few extra slug ITs in different sizes or just as a back up. One of my Slug ITs chipped on the back side of the thumb. It doesn't affect anything so I'm not worried about it, but if it chipped on the other side it would be a big problem.
