Proper fit?

Post by icefiction »

I am just wondering how many people actualy use the bill taylor chart for thumb pitch? It seems like in recent times many would consider the amount of reverse pitch excessive. Is there a new chart or does the chart still stand?

I've not seen the Bill Taylor chart, but Mo has a Thumb angle conversion chart that determines your thumb pitch based on your span and the degree of flexibility of your thumb. You should be able to find it on the wiki.

I think that's the chart Bill Taylor developed years ago, unless Mo has modified it. -- JohnP

Bill's chart did NOT take the thumb hinge angle into account. His chart used ONLY a 4 1/4" span for 0 pitch, no matter what the hinge angle was. I developed this chart in 1988 and it was put into electronic form by Kelly Bednar and adopted by IBPSIA in the early '90s. Just an accurate history lesson.
