Re: Coke can overlay help
Neither. Your hand is wide open. The entire reason for this test is to find the natural thumb hinge flexion when grasping. These are not telling you anything. Think more along the lines of closing your hand more like when you make a fist. You wouldn't not make a fist & attempt to punch with this hand position. Even in these views your looking @ right pitch NOT left. The back of your thumb is angled on the hinge to go right. If it was naturally left pitched we would the entire back of the thumb which, here we do not.

If you go by the pictures posted above, it is indicating LEFT pitch not Right.imagonman wrote:Even in these views your looking @ right pitch NOT left. For a righthander right lateral pitch is when the thumb points more toward the other fingerstips and you would be seeing more of the back of the thumb.
But I dont believe rjf300 your holding the can quite right, your holding your thumb a little too straight your not gripping the can, also you might try a slightly smaller can and see how it compares. And dont hold it cocked at angle in your hand.
(Between the images posted though, The first img is closer to more right than the 2nd. But Im not saying either is the most accurate.)
The coke can test is based on the Morich fitting tubes, which had a couple of different size tubes. To fit different size hands.
Also remember the coke can test is just a starting point for your lateral pitch, you might might have to tweak it.
