Hello guys, no thumb bowler here, went back to fingertip from conventional as my release changed a bit and I was having some pain in my MF as it came out of more axis rotation releases.
Have tried two balls, one is mine, just opened the holes to allow 31/32 inserts. Pitches are 1.25” reverse both 3/8 laterals both, 1/4 bridge. Need to plug and try less reverse as these pitches worked for conventional but for fingertip the ball simply falls off my hand too quickly. This ball rubs on the index side of my MF tip (not the nail, just the meat).
Other ball I tried, 7/8 lady ovals, 1/4 bridge (so less total bridge than the other ball due to the lady inserts) 7/16 both laterals, 3/8 reverse both fingers. This ball releases ok and has a bit less rub I believe due to pitches and total bridge, but still rubs same side of MF.
I have no rub on RF, it is perfect on both balls. Another thing, I keep my ball against my forearm from address to release and the whole palm touches the ball.
What lateral pitch change would you recommend for my MF?
I am leaning more towards lady grips or even no inserts so I can have less bridge.

Change the pitch in the direction of the rub.

Re: Rub spot on index side of MF
Thank you, that’s what I thought, just wanted to double check.
So if my MF is 7/16 L and RF is 7/16 R then I should do:
MF 9/16 L, RF stays the same.
Correct?

If its a solid, blistering rub, 1/8 is good. Light rub, long term callous, 1/16.TonyPR wrote:Thank you, that’s what I thought, just wanted to double check.
