Drilling into the Pin
Quick qusetion guys. What do you do when the layout you want ends up drilling partially into the Pin? Do you adjust the layout and keep it similar and not drill into the Pin?

Re: Drilling into the Pin
If the edge of the pin is within 1/4" of a gripping hole, I adjust the layout to place the pin at the center of that hole.

Re: Drilling into the Pin
What Snick said, definitely. Drilling the pin out eliminates any possibility of cracking to the pin. -- JohnP

Re: Drilling into the Pin
Also, here is something to keep in mind. In order to keep your warranty for the ball intact, you would have to drill the entire pin out of the ball, or else make sure it is at least 1" from all gripping holes. I just adjust my layout if I am midway in the pin to make sure I drill the entire pin out of the ball.
