Thumb bruise

Post by SaltandPepa »

Hello everybody,

What is creating this bruise on thumb just under the nail ?.... marked (red arrow).
Most common cause and fix.

Nothing else wrong and no sqeezing going on when bowling.

Many thanks for direct answers.

Here's the text that goes along with this image:

Pros Corner Fitting Tips
Excessive Reverse Pitch
Span Too Short or Too Long
Hole Too Big

These are the places to start looking.

I have this exact same problem. I believe it either comes from either pushing the thumb against the back of the thumb hole to keep from squeezing or from trying to hit up on the ball which causes the thumb to press on the back of the hole. I'm no expert, but I do both of these. When I am able to relax my hand completely, which doesn't happen very often, I don't get the bruising.
