Burn mark on tip of my thumb/pain in ring (left handed)

Post by etnhero »

I've had this burn mark on my thumb for a few months now after going to 0 in my thumb Pitch from 1/8 reverse. My PSO says it may be from squeezing but he's not too sure. Am I squeezing the ball too much which is causing this mark?

Also my ring finger has some strain around the first knuckle recently. My PSO suggested taping it but it didn't help as much. It's not hurting but when I make a fist or push gently on my ring finger, I can feel slight pain. My PSO said that it may be that I'm staying behind the ball more as the cause.

Any insight on my issues?

The burn mark + the callous on the side of your thumb leads me to think you're "knuckling" your thumb, gripping with the tip instead of the base. Keep your thumb straight and apply any needed pressure with the base, not the tip. -- JohnP
