Standard Pitches

Post by StormFan »

Has anyone ever heard of a Pro Shop using standard pitches?

One of ours uses the following for a righty:

Thumb---1/8 left and 1/8 away from palm
Middle Finger---1/8 left and 1/8 toward the palm
Ring Finger---5/8 right and 1/8 toward the palm

He says it makes it faster to drill balls because you only have to move one pitch after you drill the thumb.

Any thoughts?

Yea, run! Don't give your money to an unqualified pro shop that will not take the time to fit you well. Every hand is different and a bad fit is an injury waiting to happen.

It's actually a lot faster to just drill everything with 0,0 pitch and the same size drill bit for every hole.

He'd break my fingers. geez, owwww for me to use forward pitch on my fingers, my span would have to be so short, you might as well drill me a conventional... It takes less than 5 seconds to adjust the forward/reverse pitch for fingers on a press, but you should run as fast as you can away from that shop... while I'm at. you should run very fast away from any shop that doesn't use correct terminology industry standard, reverse always means away from geometric center, forward always means towards geometric center, pitches are always left, right, forward, reverse

No because there are no "standard pitches" that are credible.

Seek out a certified, as well as, a cross trained pro shop technician who will NOT lead you in the wrong direction.
