Hello,
Hoping someone can help me out of this jam (pun not intended). In warm-up I went to try a ball that I have had for years but rarely throw of late. I inserted one of my newest slug/innersleeves (I use a custom molded slug that is glued into the IS). It would insert but it would not turn. No problem, I have the two Turbo tools, and using the one with the tapered rubber tip I turn the slug/IS to lock it in only to have the slug break free.
Now the innersleeve is partially locked into the outersleeve so I cannot use the other tool (the "jack") to extract the IS. With the slug no longer in the ball, the rubber tipped Turbo tool won't work.
Any tips on how I might get this IS out relatively undamaged? I do have a de-olier if heating it is the way to go.
Thanks,
Viper/Joe

Glue another slug in the inner sleeve. Drilled a 1" hole in the slug. Use tool to remove slug/sleve.

Re: Turbo Innersleeve Wedged into Ball
Thanks Snick. I'll let you know how it goes. I'll have to obtain another slug to glue into the OS. But did want to ask, what if I just glued it 3/4 the way in and then used some large pliers?snick wrote:Glue another slug in the inner sleeve. Drilled a 1" hole in the slug. Re: Turbo Innersleeve Wedged into Ball
Snick,
Problem solved! A friend of mine suggested taking a pair of needle-nosed pliers and inserting the tips into the notches IOT turn the sleeve. This worked, moving the innersleeve enough that I could then use Turbo's "the Jack" tool to pull it out of the ball.
It looks like neither the IS nor the OS suffered any damage so I will re-glue the slug to the IS, using a two-part epoxy adhesive instead of the superglue.
