Switch Grip depth matching?
How does everyone match their Switch Grip depths when a customer has had all previous balls drilled elsewhere whom have different stop collar depths. I wish all Switch Grip / IT drill bit stop collars were welded at factory so we all have the exact same depths from shop to shop. Any suggestions?

Re: Switch Grip depth matching?
Use the customer's thumb IT and lock a ball it onto it. Stop drilling a little shallow and check it a little at a time (gradually drilling deeper) with the two locked together. Don't use the 1" expander while checking for depth.laneman300 wrote:How does everyone match their Switch Grip depths when a customer has had all previous balls drilled elsewhere whom have different stop collar depths. the welding would work if no one ever sharpened their bits and no one drilled for extra long thumbs.

The new interchangeable thumb system from Ultimate bowling has a lip on the outer sleeve preventing it going any futher, so the hole depth shouldn't matter anymore. Seems a very simple yet logical idea.

Re: Switch Grip depth matching?
Vise It vs. Switch grip? My pro shop guy recommends Switch Grip since it has less problems on the thumb. As far as the finger go on the Switch Grip he doesn't recommend them because they break to easy. I'm going to stick with the thumb on the Switch Grip only and stay with my regular grips for the fingers.
