Turbo switch grips with Vise slugs

Post by MoRichBowler300 »

I have just ordered some blank inner sleeves from Turbo in an attempt to offer colorful switch grip options. However, all I have is vise slugs. I really don't want to have to buy all new slugs. Has anyone glued vise slugs into Turbo inner sleeves? I'm assuming it shouldn't make a difference since 1 3/8" is the same amongst companies offering slugs. Anyone else try this and have success?

I have done this without issue. A little gorilla glue about half down, and vise super glue at the top. Rough up both surfaces.

Thanks! I was thinking that the taper on the vise slugs might screw things up but even if that was the case I'd just put the slug upside down in the Ferrari jig and cut off the taper with the plug cutter.

The taper on the bottom of the VISE Slugs could cause you to drill into the locking system of the Switch Grip. I would suggest that you simply turn the slug upside down into the Switch Grip inner, this will leave the tapered side up. Make sure before you glue it in that the taper will not go below the top of the hole.
