Well, right now, i don't really have one certain ball company in my bag, i have roto, storm, ebo, brunswick, 900global.. so i'm not really set on one company. But i really do well with storm balls...

Generally Visionary and have been since late 90's. Tend to match up better with higher Rg equipment.

Reasoning to stay with a company like Visionary and LM/L is their covers are long lived and I still have equipment form late 90's that rolls like new. I have never had a Visionary nor LM/L ball crack on me yet. Knock on wood.......I can not say the same for others have had 3 different manufacturers crack.

All very good reasons to stay with a brand. I prefer the Hammers because of there continuation and Roto for there ball motion.

I used to like Columbia-based (BASF may be the reason. not sure.) balls a lot: mostly Columbia300, Track and Dyno-Thane (when made by by Columbia) and so I also now like 900Global a lot.

When Lanemasters came out, I found I was attracted to them a lot also.

The last couple of years, I have found several Visionary balls that I use and like a lot.

Oddly, while I never felt the almost emotional attachment, that I had to Columbia made balls to Brunswick balls, when I think about it, I realize I have ALWAYS had at least 3 Brunswick balls or Brunswick-made balls (meaning their coverstocks) in my rotating arsenals.

I am sticking with what has worked for me in the past, Roto and Global, only other ball in the bag is a Hammer.

I never do mention them. I just always have them. I never think of them as special. I have them, I guess, 'cause they, one or more of them, always seem to work for me.

ANd the majority of them have NOT been low RG balls, for whatever that's worth. :D

me? Definitely not, not with my ball speed. :)
As I implied, most of my Brunswick stuff is not the low RG core type. Some of the ones I use now are Twisted Fury Pearl and Solid, Bruiser, Revolution Renegade, Fury Pearl TE (undrilled) & Avalanche Pearl. Of them the Renegdae has probably the highest RG and has the earliest revving midlane. Well the TFSolid is pretty strong.

The Lowest RG ball I use now is a Motiv SX-1 but with a high RG drilling. :)

No need to be sorry. Just don't lock yourself out of a potentially good ball because of that notion. I wouldn't say every Brunswick ball is usable by everyone. All manufacturers, to one degree or another, produce many kinds of balls. Look after last year's lighter oil on the PBA & B'wick sort of got locked out of many tournaments, Brunswick started making lots of backend balls: Wild Ride, Twisteds, Wild Thing and now the C-System 2.5.

Heck, even I had a Blue Vibe. :D

I'm pretty loyal right now but always have my eyes open, I contimplated picking up a Copperhead for a little while before I resurfaced my Danger Zone. I also looked at the Swarm and Smash zone for a little bit.

I don't have a whole lot of preference right now but I've been thinking about which companies I will want to start buying from. Sadly, Product Registration for PBA events has an effect on what companies I'm considering. I've never done a Regional but should I ever get good enough to decide to do one, I don't want to need replacements. That basically leaves me with the big seven(Big B, Ebonite, Hammer, Columbia, Track, Roto, Storm) because you never know when the other companies are going to quit registering. Now, I could probably just suck it up and choose to never do a PBA event for the benefit of throwing whatever I want whenever I want. I just don't know if I want to lock myself out like that.

That said, since I don't feel like spending more than $200 on a ball anymore, I don't think I'll really be brand loyal, but I could probably be loyal to mid and low priced equipment.

You should be in good shape with Global as well.

As far as I have been able to determine, the Copperhead has a VERY ROLLY, ARC-Y type of ball reaction. I suppose polish, or a fine surface or a high pin could make it less arc-y. Not sure if it will ever get to be a "sharp backend" type of ball.

From what I have seen the Danger ZOne can play very close to the Copperhead depending on surface.

I only mentioned this 'cause I thought you were trying to avoid rolly balls. I think they should "play" fairly close, but the DZ was not a rolly ball, and many references to the CH is a rolly ball, possibly due to the roughness of the stock surface. I have not tried one; so all references are 2nd hand.

From what I have seen I would call it constant Arch, which is about what I have with my DZ.

I was big on Track an Roto Grip until a year and a half ago. Now I'm Lane Masters & Legends, and I don't see that changing anytime soon! ;)
