I need to find a good ball for a stroker who throws a down and in shot around 20 mph. I am by no means a bowler that can rev up the ball like a cranker. It's just natural for me to throw the ball hard and i need a ball that will compensate that. I am looking for a slight hook nothing to crazy. Just need a little entry angle as ball is coming into pocket instead of a straight ball. Any advice would be helpful
thanks

Re: ball for a 20 mph stroker
a good ball for that kind of style would be a columbia 300 freeze ball. this ball is good for all types of bowlers and it is a very good ball. i have 2 of them one is polished and i dulled one. i like this ball and its a good one.

Re: ball for a 20 mph stroker
We have the same ball speed and similar preference in playing style. I am most happy throwing the ball from the 8th board straight down up to the pocket. And because of the high ball speed I am able to use a heavy oil ball on medium to light oil lanes while maintaining a relatively straight shot.
In general a rolling ball will help your game. The rolling ball will stand up earlier giving the ball chance to react faster when it leaves the oil. So bowling balls with low rg and high diff are your friends.
I find that ball surface plays a big role in my game. Do not be afraid to alter the Out Of Box (OOB) finish of the bowling ball. All of my bowling balls have a surface of 800 grit. If the ball stands up too early I will increase the surface to 1000 grit.
