Drill Angle for Double Thumb

Post by brokebowlr »

Hi Mo, having emailed you several times and talk on the phone once, you have me hooked on Morich equipment. Your recommendations have been spot on. Now I have a question. How does one determine the correct Drill Angle for the Double Thumb technique. I want to try one, but don't want to punch up a boat anchor. Thanx in advance.

There have been a number of posts on this very topic. :)

Take a ball you currently have and find your center line, mid line and VAL. Once you have your VAL drawn, measure a 40° angle then measure a line 4" long. This will be the position of your pin.

Next, find a point 1/2" to the right of the outer edge of the thumb hole. Draw line from the pin to the point you just marked. Now measure your drilling angle. :)

Thanx for the quick reply. Another question is, would you take any ball you have or one of the ones that give you the best look.

Any ball that has your most comfortable fit on it. You want the span to be the same as what you're about to transfer to the new ball, just to be certain you get the right drilling angle.

Kelly, isn't it a 30* VAL angle? Then a 4 inch line from there?

YOU ARE CORRECT, SIR!

My apologies, brokebowlr. I hope you haven't marked anything up and drilled it already.
