Hello everyone,
I have a question about Elite. I did a Google search to find the answer but didn't get too far.
It seems to me that the Elite balls are the most expensive balls out there. I'm wondering if this is just because the balls a very cool looking (I love the look of the Alien red/blk), great marketing or are they really just that much better?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Elite Balls
Two reasons (possibly 3) for their prices being a lot more than anyone elses.
1. Their Alien line was pretty much the epitome of "hook in a box"
2. They were the licensed balls of the PBA for a few years
(3.) They want as much as they can per ball because a more expensive ball is (perhaps) a much better ball than the competition. That's the theory anyway.....

Re: Elite Balls
Their marketing can't be that great, I've never actually seen anyone throwing an Elite. They look cool, though.

Re: Elite Balls
I've just recently drilled two elite balls for a customer who got both for $130. A spider wasp, 55 4" 35, and a sabotage, dt 50 4 30. The spider wasp reacted well, smooth and fairly strong but nothing like the high end asymmetric stuff. The sabotage didn't react to friction at all. Took it to 2000 and still was incredibly weak. The cover didn't seem to be absorbing any oil. Threw it in our revivor after 15 throws and quite a bit of oil came out. Helped a little but it's still disappointing considering it's supposed to be stronger. Going to put the double thumb hole in this weekend and see if that improves things.

Re: Elite Balls
I don't know if they sell many balls. I have only seen two in person. I know Brian Voss and Robert Smith were on staff for awhile. They seem to "use" or "borrow" older core technology and I would assume they have trouble competing with the Big 9 as in Ebonite, Track, Hammer, Columbia, Roto Grip, Storm, AMF, 900 Global, and Brunswick. I know Morich, Lane 1, Visionary, and Lane Masters sell some balls so I don't know how much room is left for Elite, Seismic, AZO, Jet, Caffeine Sports and others.

Re: Elite Balls
drilled the elite tonight.
me -right handed
pap 5 over 1 1/4 up
speed 17.5 off hand
tilt 13*
rotation 45-60
rpm 325
elite drilled 45x2.75x25
storm reign drilled 45x2.75x25 p3
I played both balls down the 9 board the reign broke at around the 7 (my normal league shot)out about 40 ft. with a good steady move to the pocket
the elite I had to move my feet 2 boards left, broke around 40 ft. at about the 5 or 4 board with a hard left turn.
I used the elite all 3 games to give it a good comparison.set was 203-188-222
average is 182
over all I would say it is a good ball that will have a place in my bag, right in between my Awesome finish and the Ntense LevRG
