Best ball specs to request when ordering a ball?

Post by duvallite »

I want to order a new ball online, probably a strong asym like a Storm Parallax or something similar in 15lbs. With the new USBC rule changes, what would be the best ball specs (pin & top wt.) to request, or does it even really matter any more? Would 2.92oz top weight be considered usable? Looking to do a pin-up layout, maybe along the lines of 50x4x30 or so. PAP is appx 4-9/16" x 1/2" up. Based on my PAP and the layout I'm thinking of, what specs should I request? Thanks.

3 oz top or under, you can drill it with the cg on the side and still be legal. The new USBC rule changes made it much easier for a pro shop operator to take any ball and drill it the way you want it to react.

My recommendation is anything over 1+ pin to cg and anything under 4 oz top.
