I have a hammer nail titanium. It has at most 3 games on it. Ball was sitting in the house in the closet on my bowling ball rack thing which is this thing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bowling-Ball-r ... uR9DTFQaSg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I pulled it out to give to my cousin and it is cracked all the way through it. Temp in the closet is probably around 80. Closet is closed all the time. have no idea how it can crack sitting on the rubber thing.

Because it sat in an 80 degree closet. The expansion and shrinking due to heat and cooling off weaken the ball at the pin.

It was mentioned that a bowling ball is like a sponge.
A sponge needs to be primed with liquid otherwise it is dry and brittle.
Balls that are not used much are dry, no oil absorbed into them.
Just had one of my un-favorite balls crack. Same sort of situation sitting in a controlled environment and it cracked.

so need to pull out the old balls and use them every month or two?

i don't want my guru supreme to crack or the ripped. Those 2 balls I usually save for nationals because of how much oil is put down. Guess you can use those balls if you play deeper to start?

what do you do if you have like 15-20 balls that you like and don't want cracked? just mix them up every now and then? I bring 6 balls with me when I go, but the past 2 times i went, I have only used the storm super sonic the entire night and just moved left. Averaged 230+ for 2 nights (if you take out middle game on thursday[ 2 solid 9's lot of solid 10's and 2 missed 10's]) and that is with an open in every game. That is on 2 different types of lane conditions to me. monday was a little lighter volume and thurs was bascially if you missed right the ball shot left like a sling shot.

no use bringing out other balls when 1 ball is working. Also my thumb is hanging and snagging on alot of my balls for some reason. i have snagged a few times in the past 2 days also.
