Surface adjustments for my arsenal

Post by JJakobsen »

Okay, PAP is 4 right, 1 1/2 up, speed is normally 14-15, can play well up to 17, 450rpm. Axis tilt is 0, bad shots might give negative tilt. Axis rotation is around 30 degrees.

Arsenal:
Brunswick Vintage Inferno, 2000 abralon, ish 45x3x60
Storm Timeless, stock, ish 40x4x60
Storm Marvel Pearl, stock, ish 60x3x60

I love the Inferno, smooth and nice, it is the ball you can pick up when you can't find the pocket with anything else, and just stand and throw where it feels right, and you strike right away.

I feel the Marvel Pearl isnt too snappy, but it moves a LOT. I prefer a bit earlier and readable motion from it.

The Timeless is what I start with on our national league home pattern, 44ft, 3.4 ratio. The Inferno isnt usable untill late 2nd game, except on fresh, as it needs some burn, initial carrydown kills it late 1st and early 2nd game. The Timeless I might like to keep as it is, as I do like the motion.

Also got the new 900G urethane with the Break core on order.

Spare ball is Hammer Widow Spare, so it flares a metric shit ton, actually hooks a bit, even on 24ml 44ft. This is my fun ball, remove the polish and it could easily work as a make-shift weak urethane.

Now, the only thing I wanna stick with is the Inferno, dont change a winning team, the rest, well, any thoughts?

Are you a "classic full roller" with the track between the fingers and the thumb? -- JohnP

I know, I release the ball on the inside, I never get to the outside properly. It is only with the Sarge Easter it happens, if I swap to my old full fingertip, I get 5 right 1 up PAP, pretty standard area.

EDIT: But, it hurts like someone cuts my finger off with fingertip, so, nah, I'd rather keep my odd release and roll, and be as pain free as I can.
