saw this ball and thought it would be interesting to try a ball with a really high differential (0.078!)
have a couple questions about it.
hook monster or strong and controllable? comparable to what?

You can probably achieve the 0.078" by double thumbing a high diff asym. (Take a look at The Fix Asym E layout)

Of course, if you double thumb the Immortal, it's likely to break 0.090"... whether that's good or not would be interesting to see...

I had an Immortal Solid pay attention the VMB markings and better yet if you have access to a DeTerminator that will be the best way for a pro shop to layout ball. Depending on lane condition to be used on in general the IS was very strong almost too strong for any medium lane condition when brought out and the majority complained of seeing the ball burn up and plaque. Just not enough volume back then for the majority. The IP was more favorable ball as the pearl cover helped it more. I am saying this in general terms if you are speed dominant higher ball speed with less revs then the IS/IP may work for you.

Some of the older VBP balls are veryt good in the right hands. I have an undrilled NIB G-3 Gryphon 14 lb. 2.53 .050 that I believe will work well on todays medium type conditions. VBP back then tended to have a few stronger total diff. balls than most manufacturers.

mr. bean--I see you have an Octane Carbon in the pic on your profile. Though i don't have one and use a Venom Cobra in it's place the OC is a great pearl length- snap ball from what I have seen. I wouldn't think the Immortal Pearl would be any better than the OC.

my octane carbon is gone (traded). right now i have: alpha crux, magenta piranha, guru (coming in the mail today), awesome finish , byte, hot cell.
do you think the immortal pearl would be comparable to the storm byte?

Site looks a bit shady and iffy to me. If you can't speak to a real person via phone I would not order from them but that's me.

If you are using 16 lb'ers. You have a lot of choices from Josh Wonders on his site. http://www.bowlerscellar.com/apps/webst ... 271?page=1 Josh is reputable and you can contact for possible TW and pin distance. I will vouch for Josh!

decided to just put a strong layout on a kingpin. for 2 reasons:
1. website looks shady with that price.
2. with a high backswing not sure if 16 lbs would work well with my arm

I second that about Josh. Easy to work with, very responsive, and quick delivery!

Just an FYI, someone is selling 4 NIB 15 lb Immortal Pearls. If you are interested, look on Racks on Racks Group on FB.

Hope this helps some people out.

I had one and I would say controllable. For me the cover was too strong and I never found enough oil for it to not burn up and do nothing on the back end.
