had no idea they still made balls. I bought the uranium and couldn't ever get it to hook but I did sure like the black cherry bomb until it cracked. No matter where I go I don't see that brand. I dont even see it at buddiesproshop or bowlingball.com. Isn't the difference an older ball?

An old bowling buddy of mine threw a lot of lane one balls.
He bought them second hand.

I wish I were good enough to even consider a 300 bowling ball.

One barometer would be to see how many of the better bowler's in your circle are throwing any Lane 1. The local bowling paper here lists honor scores (refined by bowler by frequency),
Oft times the bowler will thank the driller and name the ball.
If you have a paper like that, see if that helps

My honest opinion is no....there isn't any ball worth $300+. You can buy two high end balls from just about every other manufacturer for that price tag. I've thrown lane 1 in the past, they make good equipment....hell, my highest series ever was with Lane 1. But, I always bought them 2nd hand and redrilled them. I never paid retail.
