The Brunswick Gold Crown Bowling Ball

I know this is not a ball that would be more than a spare ball in today's game, but once upon a time this ball was a main ball for strikes.
But its striking ability aside, this has got to be the most unique and beautiful bowling ball ever made.
I mean look at it, it is filled with real Gold flakes. Real Gold!

Back in the 60's when it was made, Gold was only $32 an ounce.
But today Gold is over $1000 and ounce.
A local pro shop had one on display and allowed me to take a pic of it which I have attached.
I want one of these real, real bad...

If I ever got one and had it drilled, the pro shop operator would have to capture the drilling dust so I could recover the gold from it!
Or he could keep the dust to pay for his services. Lol.

Here is a match where Don Carter is using it and the announcer talks about it at 5:09

The amount of Gold in that ball is practically meaningless.

It's like gold leaf, it's thinner than tissue paper. The gold in the drillings probably barely cover the head of pin.

I don't know, I heard online that it was a full ounce. But that may be a wive's tale.
