Getting Brunswick BTU tomorrow drilling ideas?
I am going to pick up a BTU tomorrow to play "in the burn" track area if I ever need to. Shouldn't it be drilled bascially with control? or needs to be drilled to go long and then with backend? It will be more of a down and in shot. I plan to use this thing if I can't play with anyhting else in the track area and if I move left and the ball doesn't make it back to the pocket for whatever reason.

Here is a link to help you get the information needed for me to give layout advice.
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=373" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Otherwise go off the drill sheet that is provided with the ball. Good luck with this method. I just looked at the drillsheet on Brunswicks site and the layouts there are recommended for balls with differentials greater than .040, the BTU is a low differential ball .030.

I would not use a Pin to PAP of more than 4.5" and I would not go pin down.
That is the best I can do without your release specs.

I drilled one with the pin 35º@4", and the shape was slightly smoother than the Danger Zone. Player has a 500 rev-rate, 18MPH, 13º AT, 55º AR. First three games on the ball was 750.

After watching your vids I dunno if the BTU is gonna help or not. Do you have anything pearlized for dry/ light oil in your arsenal now?
A Radical Rave - Rave ON -Rack attack- Strike King-Regular Fanatic -Soul- Soulmate- Hy Road pearl all reactives which might suit the need better.
Polishing up a coverstock will give you great length and still maintain backend hit.

Re: Getting Brunswick BTU tomorrow drilling ideas?
BTU was not a good burn ball for me. Too much response off the friction. I also did not like it as well as true urethane on short patterns. I ended up giving mine to my son. I've seen similar results from others in my area. A few like theirs, but I think everyone was surprised how snappy this ball can be. And surface changes were tried.

It was drilled 80 * 4 *50 is what I was told. Not sure what that is though.
