pin placement for quantum bias

Post by iblilmikey »

my speed is around 14, low rev rate and I high track. current drill is pin below my ring finger and I believe my pin to pap is around 5 in and wet bias to pin is about the same. ball is supposed to move but I really have to try and make it move. should I get it plugged and move pin back to above/right of my ring finger

Welcome to BowlingChat.

Based on your description I would suggest a shorter Pin to PAP. The longer pin to PAP is trying to get the ball to roll forward so yes I can see why you have to try to make it hook.

Pin next to the ring finger will be a good compromise between what you have and what you propose.

If I had your actual release specs I could give a better recommendation.
Check out this link to help you determine your release specs.

thank you for the reply
I'm right handed, my speed is around 14 on the monitor I am unsure on the rest. I found my axis by placing tape and it is close. bowled tonight and again there is little to none on the back end (first ball I have had drilled pin under fingers) would you recommend getting the ball plugged and going pin above/right of ring finger, or even right? hate to plug a new ball with only eleven games on it.....but it seems almost worthless the way it is. I had quit bowling for about five years (after bowling for 20+ years) and just started again 6 weeks ago, my ball I was throwing was an original danger zone, not the remake, was my favorite go to ball but figured time to get some new technology. was wanting more mid lane with this (to play inside in the oil) but have changed my mind after this set up, as it does not seem to work. the ball was drilled close to (per Brunswick chart) mid-lane hook and back end, high track if that helps

I need all of your release info to give you accurate layout information.

I can tell you Pin down layouts are not so good for speed dominant bowlers. The core doesn't react fast enough to help it get into a roll.

If you want the ball to react in the midlane put a dull surface on it. A dull enough surface could make it more usable for you.
