Bowling Chat Map primer

Post by kajmk » July 29th, 2013, 8:20 pm

Adding a prequel today July 19 2014.

Impetus, continued requests such as
Southern California Pro Shop Suggestions
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9904" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

While the Map is not a perfect solution, it is a decent start and it's whats available to us until something better comes along.

If you do not drill your own bowling balls and would recommend a Bowling Pro Shop Professional to a friend, why not amplify your recommendation and good will by adding that information to the map?
This is one way to help fellow bowlers and deserving professionals.

Is your Pro Shop of preference on the map?

I'm willing to help if need be.

Original material follows after this sentence.

Eric has encouraged us to add data to the map.
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7821" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Link to Eric's post - retro added 7/19/14)
This is a way to help your fellow bowlers and coaches, pro shops, etc that YOU believe and and support. It's the right thing to do and it just might help that person be there the next time you need them!

Lets give the deserving their due. Every element of the bowling world is essential to the welfare of the sport and it's athletes. If you know a coach or pro shop etc that you would recommend to a friend or relative, Get 'em on the Map!!

Gather the proper information then add it to the Map it only takes minutes.
Note that you can only add, you cannot change, so have your ducks in a row before you hit the Submit Button! :)

How do I get to the Map?

Where is the Map.JPG
What information is there for me to view or add?

What information is available on the Map?

Example of data added

Map address field is fed to Google Maps for viewing and directions.
Map exhibit 2 plug in to Google Maps.JPG
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so

There should be a rule of war saying you have to see someone up close and get to know 'em before it's ok to shoot 'em

Easy way to show others the many ways Bowlingchat can help them.

Reason for bumping this topic.

See topic at
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11583" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The goal is to get as many deserving Pro Shops etc on the map so as to help bowlers, acknowledge good and honest service. This is good for the sport and all good bowling folk.

Just sayin'

Reason for reply.
Our map is one way of directing members and readers to good resources.

If you know of any and they are not on the map, publicity does not hurt!
You will be helping to grow the sport.

Forum member Krava is looking for a good coach within a 250 mile radius of Shreveport Louisiana.

Can you help him out???

I wanted to bump this to the top as a reminder.

People ask about pro shop recommendations on the forum.
Any member can add items to the map.
If your valued pro is not on the map please add them with appropriate comments.
If you have used the map as a resource, be sure to create a post with your comments.
Let the pro know that you have.
This is one small way to give credit where it is due.

A big shout out to our members that care enough to make recommendations to those in need.

We have grown to over 5400 members.
The forum map is one way we can find good resources, add them to help bowlers and also to acknowledge quality professional service providers.

The map will be retired soon, dont worry about it.
Eventually only the forum and wiki will remain.
They're the only parts of the website with consistent traffic worth keeping up.
Not all ideas work out, even if they're good ones.
C'est la vie.
