There are a fair amount of threads with some mention of this Legend of the game.
His book Fast Lanes is an entertaining retrospective of the game and exploits of action bowlers in a bygone era. A good read for any fan of the game.

Carmen was and is a creative mind, an innovator, an quite a showman.

I know some of you will enjoy this stuff.

By the way, don't forget to rate BowlingChat.net we have a whopping 19 votes.

Krava, the text you see is a cut and paste from the email.
Are you saying you could not access the audio?
I just went there and it seems to be working.

The very first post lists the link where you can access their past and current shows
There are currently hundreds of shows available according to the home page.
The Phantom is Lenny Nicholson, erstwhile lane man for the PBA going back to days when oil was put on the lanes using a spray gun. Len is a walking history book.

I occasionally update this thread .

The video submitted to show Tennelle. I've also included this for bowlers who are not built fashion models (men or women). This is to encourage, not to disparage.

Tennell is at least 40 pounds lighter nowadays. Most people wouldn't recognize her currently.

That is great news!

Where there is a will, there is sometimes a way.
Glad to hear this for the sake of her health.

Thanks for sharing.

For refernece, 40 lbs is the weight of a 5 gallon jug. Way to go, that is a lot of weight!

This is completely non related but PHANTOM reminds me of a Brunswick PHANTOM ball. If my memory is good Brunswick came out with a black ball and it had pictures of like 5 steps or something on it. I believe I bought this ball or had someone buy the ball for me. I would have been 17 at the time or so and this was in 89-90. I don't know how I can remember that or maybe I am dreaming or something. I know the first ball I ever wanted was a Brunswick LAZER I guess I liked the name, I didn't know it was a stupid plastic ball. The 2nd ball I ever got was a red hammer which I shot 725 with and so far never got a higher series before. I would probably have shot a 800 series with it if someone didn't come in late when I was 16. I had 279 then 267 then shot 180. Well that is what Phantom means to me. I stayed up late tonight worring about tonights bowling. I only get to bowl once a week and can't practice at all or I might rip my shoulder off. Probably won't get 700 today.

The Phantom is a nickname given to Len Nicholson who was the PBA "Laneman" for many, many years. It had nothing to do with a bowling ball, stupid plastic or otherwise. It might be worth your while to delve into some of the history of bowling. You might find it interesting. There is a long tradition to the sport that has nothing to do with what you shot today, or might shoot tomorrow.

The "5 steps" image your referring too was the outline of a Northrop Grumman B-2 stealth bomber
