Local Youth League

Post by kellytehuna »

After many months of planning and waiting to get out to the schools in the area, we are finally looking like getting a youth league started here, in lil ole Hazard, KY! We're having a meeting tonight to see how many kids we have interested and we're gonna go from there. We might have to make it an adult-youth league, to boost numbers, but thats fine by me.

Some might remember me asking a few months ago about how to get funding to help some of the kids get gear and what not. Well, I'm still looking for ideas, anybody has any.

Looking forward to tonight. I got a call last night asking when the meeting was, because the date was wrong on the print out (my friends wife did them and all three of us missed it, until we'd handed out about 300 of them!) and my friend, Wes, said he's had a bunch of phone calls asking about it, so we're looking like we should be in good shape. I'll keep you posted.

When I was coaching the high school team, I initiated a fundraiser that I called "Pennies for Pins". The bowlers would ask sponsors to donate a penny or two for every pin they knocked down for a three game set. Most of the time people would just donate 5 or 10 dollars but it generated a lot of money for the team. Good luck
