Wicked fun video

Post by kidlost2000 »

Got a new Brunswick Wicked Siege in Wednesday and drilled it up to try out Thursday morning.

Ball rolls great. Got three games in on a leftover shot from the night before. Wanted to play a few different lines with some different bowling balls but if you put the ball down between 15 and the gutter it hooked off your hands. So the shot is a little limited to trying to bump the dry.

Still, the ball rolls great and can't wait to try it out more next week.

Also just downloaded AVS video editor to use on this vid and love it.

Awesome video, the ball's reaction looks really good for you. I have a video up of mine on youtube and its posted here in the ball talk section. I've had a lot of success with mine thus far, its very clean even with surface on it and hits extremely well.

Edit, heres the link to that topic with my video viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1904" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Observation and opinion on original vids. Being that it was shot on a leftover shot I would think if you would have moved your line inside of the third arrow towards the 4th you wouldn't have left as many flat 10's. I would have tried that the thinking being there would have been a bit more leftover lane conditioner not used that deep....just a thought.

I see what you're seeing. I believe the lack of carry is a function of his layout choices. I suggest he cuts his pin to PAP distance on his layouts by 1/2" and he cuts his VAL angle by 10*. If he does that, his carry will improve and the ball will pop at the break point. Not my first rodeo. Agree, Scott?

Didn't try moving much deeper. There wasn't much in the way of back ends and if you didn't bump the outside a little early the downlane reaction would be iffy with what was left over. Have a Motiv GT1 with a 2.75" pin and 30 degree val that probably would have worked. Just took those 5 to use since they were newer and what I wanted to practice with. I was optimistic on if the shot would be fresh or leftover from the night before. At noon on a Thursday it is leftovers.lol

The Revolution had two games on it before the vid and the Wicked had zero. The Defender and Diamondback Pearl I have had for a little while. The 5th ball was a Motiv RX-1 silver/black used for spares.

Very surprised so far in the strength of the cover on the Wicked.

You would know way better than I, Mo.

Just looking at the original vid.....I understand what kidlost is saying about tighter backend from leftover lane condition from day before.

My thoughts were to try a slightly more inside trajectory to save energy and see if that would trip out 10's? Also, add axis rotation for slightly more length and more pop into 1-3. Does that make sense or am I off base? That would be my adjustments before going to another ball especially since you wanted to shoot vid on that particular ball kid.

Your adjustments, depending on what you do best, are increase axis rotation, lower the ball height, and look closer to get the ball to transition quicker. What we're looking for is a faster transition from the first to the second transition (shorter hook zone). At least, in my opinion.

Adjusting the release probably would have worked best. Was a little inconsistant that day with my release. Only had three games with warm up and was bowling with my wife. Still had a lot of fun and look forward to getting a vid with it on a fresher condition.

Have a few games in now and really love this ball. It has a lot of length with the angular backend I was looking for. The cover on this ball seems great for adjustments and I decided to order a second one for a more versatile layout. Was considering 65 x 2.75 x 45 was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts or suggestions?

thanks

What's the layout on the current Wicked Siege? I can't seem to find it in the thread.
