HELP! What ball for burnt up house shot?
I have just started a senior league which bowls after another senior league with no reoiling. So needless to say the lanes are burnt up. They put down the ‘Wall Street’ pattern, which has very little oil outside 8. I am currently throwing UFO and have to play a lot deeper than I like. Since I am not comfortable playing inside I tend to leave a lot of splits. Have a hard time holding the line playing down the boards but that is what I feel more comfortable doing. Should I play a weaker resin, urethane or plastic ball and try and play down the boards? What are your thought and other adjustments for bowling on BURNT out lanes? Use a spare ball? Most of the other bowler on the lanes throw plastic down the middle.

Could try rolling the ball more forward near the oil line.
Playing what the lane gives you versus forcing what is comfortable will always be the higher scoring option.

The UFO is a Strong Asymmetrical ball. I can see why you are looking for something weaker.
Staying in the RotoGrip lineup the Hustle or the Hyped could be good choices to play closer to your comfort zone.

Thanks, I’ll look into the Hustle.

Lower speed player, wood lanes, burnt up shot? Radical Counter Attack Pearl (the red one) and a plastic for spares.
If you are higher track low tilt, you can even try a short pin layout on it.
Plastic and urethanes on a house shot for strikes, naaaa.
