Some of you may be aware, I am running a facebook group that has garnered media attention by growing to 5,000 members in 2 weeks, with 3,000 coming in the first 3 days.
The group is focused on re-opening bowling in New York. https://www.facebook.com/groups/785589205600161
With the tremendous response in such a short period of time, managing the group has been a big undertaking.
I've come to appreciate the membership here at BowlingChat for communicating in a mature and intelligent manner.
The facebook group has had many bumps in the road.
I've had to throw quite a few members out of the group for threatening posts and I've also been threatened and harassed via messenger.
Completely unacceptable behavior by mostly grown adults and some of them are proprietors!
It's a completely different world out there compared to BowlingChat.
So I wanted to say Thank You for your support and dedication toward growing the game with intelligent discussion.
This is the reason the website was built, to give a venue those that want that type of measured discussion without the personal attacks and trolling.
-Eric

Re: Thank You BowlingChat Community!
Eric, first of all thanks for all you have done over the years.
Much credit and thanks to cornerstone members Jim Merrell, Mo Pinel, there are others and my memory is too fallible so I will stop the list.
Regular's here will recognize the anchors who have helped many.
Facebook, Twitter et al are a larger sampling of society, the good, the bad, the ugly.
Some of the folks there write things they'd never say face to face. Like Bond's license to kill.
The internet at its worst, gives license to "Monsters from the Id" (The character Morbius from Forbidden Planet").
As for BowlingChat,
Thanks again for
To all: be safe, be well, be kind, be happy.

May all beings everywhere be happy and free,
and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life
contribute in some way to that happiness
and to that freedom for all.

Re: Thank You BowlingChat Community!
Thank you Eric for keeping this forum alive.
It is a bit disappointing that we don't have the traffic that kept me trying to keep up with all the posts. I don't have check posts multiple times a day any more. In fact I am only checking in once every couple of days or so, sometimes even longer. It is too bad the Brunswick put the reigns on Mo and forced him to use the FB platform. I am not and will not become part of that community. I will be here for as long you keep BowlingChat alive.
Thanks again.
